Panel Discussion: The Essential Roadmap to Value-Based Care

Behavioral health patients present unique challenges because of the common co-occurrence of multiple Behavioral Health and medical problems.  Failure to integrate across care systems is costly to both payers and providers.  For example, substance use patients have a 6 times greater healthcare spend than the general population and families of these patients spend about 3 times more than the general population.   Organizations that can directly address this issue will solve payer problems of cost and improve health outcomes for patients.  Value-based and at-risk contracts have been proposed as a solution to create common goals and incentives for providers, payers, and patients.  This presentation will guide owners, investors, and stakeholders in conversations addressing these important issues.

Panel Discussion: Opportunities and the Concerns for Creating a Telehealth/Virtual Care Program

With the growing need for behavioral health services, access to care and the methods providers utilize to reach patients is expanding. Telehealth or virtual care is a leading channel for patients to receive therapy for addiction or mental health disorders. In this presentation, we will discuss topics vital for organizations considering the use of telehealth/virtual care services that include:

      • How can virtual care change the landscape of behavioral healthcare?
      • What are the cost savings and efficiency/capacity increase for treatment centers?

      Panel Discussion: Clinical Outcomes

Behavioral health has lagged behind general healthcare programs as they track and manage real patient outcomes. Several BH companies now have focused on this and are generating data that show BH interventions are effective in reducing symptoms and enhancing life quality.  The panel chair has implemented outcomes management systems at major insurers and provider programs. Panelists will share their perspectives and performance in the real world, including data that benchmark their clinicians and programs.

      Panel Discussion: Employee Engagement

In the behavioral health world, a patient entering treatment is the first step in their journey to sobriety or recovery from addiction or mental health disorders. Oftentimes, the length of stay a patient plans for prior to admission is cut short due to various factors. The first line of defense against a patient leaving early or against medical advice (AMA) is the direct-care staff providing the clinical treatment for patients. In this session, attendees will hear from an organization that's been able to achieve great success in keeping patients in treatment for longer periods of time in light of an industry staffing struggle. Attendees of this session will learn about:

      • The correlation between keeping your direct-care staff satisfied and achieving longer lengths of stay
      • How to hire and train your direct-care staff in ways that ensure best outcomes for patients and maximize revenue for treatment providers
      • How to keep your direct-care staff motivated and satisfied in their current positions
      • Insights into staffing ratios that provide patients with the care needed stay engaged in treatment and achieve successful results
      • How to lead an organization with multiple facilities and locations to achieve success

      Panel Discussion: Revenue Cycle Management

Opening the doors of a treatment center is the first of many battles an organization encounters in operating a successful treatment facility. Perhaps the biggest battle of all is getting paid for the life-saving treatment services an organization provides.
